President’s Message
Fall 2024 BCGSA’s Presidents Report
As my time on the BCGSA board starts to wind down and I will soon move into the Past Presidents role, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone that has been involved during my time on the board. Leading the BCGSA has been one of the most enriching experiences of my professional career, and it is all thanks to the passion, dedication, and unwavering support of this incredible membership, fellow board members and the BCGSA/CGSA’s team. Our commitment to excellence and focus of camaraderie, on and off the course, have inspired me every step of the way, reinforcing my belief in the power of our professional community and shared mission.
I would also like to extend a special note of appreciation to Jenn Rozek, our Operations Manager. Her tireless efforts, organizational skills, and commitment to our association’s vision have been invaluable. She has been a pillar of support, ensuring the seamless execution of our programs and initiatives. I am confident that under her continued guidance, the association will keep advancing and reaching new heights.
Over the course of my presidency, I have learned and grown in ways I could never have imagined. Your ideas, feedback, and enthusiasm have shaped my leadership and deepened my appreciation for the work we do. Every challenge we face—whether it was navigating the complexities of course management, environmental restrictions/pressures, promoting best practices, or hosting successful events—and every success we celebrated was made more meaningful because we tackled them together. I am grateful for the lessons, the friendships, and the collective spirit that have driven our shared progress.
As I step down, I do so with immense pride in what we have accomplished together and with confidence in the future of the BCGSA. Thank you for entrusting me with this opportunity to lead, learn, and contribute to this vibrant group. It has been an honour I will carry with me always. I look forward to supporting and cheering on the next chapter of our journey as we continue in elevating our profession.
Sincerely,
Brett Finlayson
